For the past couple of years I've been pondering this. Maybe this is a sign.
The question has been especially nagging since the iPhone came out. Call me old fashioned if you must, but really, why does anyone need full web browsing, email, their entire music collection, and God knows what else, in a phone? It just makes no sense to me.
Case in point. Now it's not mentioned if he had an iPhone or not, but here's a kid, well, a young man since he's 18, who was so into text messaging on his cell phone that he somehow missed hearing the blaring horns, the horrendous tornado-like rumble, and what i'm sure was some pretty severe vibration in the ground below him, and was hit by a train! Yes, it's true. Fortunately, and miraculously, he wasn't severely injured. But I'm now thinking maybe we've reached the point where all of this 'new' technology is really not such a good thing after all.
