{"id":798,"date":"2017-06-24T07:14:49","date_gmt":"2017-06-24T11:14:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/?p=798"},"modified":"2017-06-24T07:14:49","modified_gmt":"2017-06-24T11:14:49","slug":"thunderbird-stationary-images","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/?p=798","title":{"rendered":"Thunderbird Stationary Images"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0 4px 0 4px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"images\/stories\/thunderbird_logo.jpg\" width=\"80\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/thunderbird\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thunderbird<\/a>. &nbsp;Has been my email app of choice since Eudora bit the dust. &nbsp;It essentially picked up where Eudora left off and was an easy switch. &nbsp;Yet a recent update changed the way it handles images in stationary and has been giving me some aggravation until this morning.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Thunderbird is an excellent email app running on multiple systems and allowing ease of handling all types of email protocol and many different email accounts, which is my situation. &nbsp;I make use of the stationary feature which allows you to automatically add a signature at the end of your email that is more than just a name or message. &nbsp;It can by styled with HTML, can include images that are attached to your email, and stored as a plain HTML file. &nbsp;It&#8217;s a nice feature.<\/p>\n<p>Yet this recent update caused all images in a stationary file to throw an error: &#8220;Thunderbird has blocked a file from loading into this message.&#8221;. &nbsp;It gives you the option of specifically selecting the image that you truly want in your message with a 2-click process, which becomes rather annoying quite quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past weeks I&#8217;ve tried searching for the solution or a way to disable this new method of handling message images but came up empty handed until today when I found this <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.mozillazine.org\/viewtopic.php?f=39&#038;start=0&#038;t=3029842\" target=\"_blank\">message board post<\/a>, which ultimately led me to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.org\/en-US\/questions\/1063657\" target=\"_blank\">this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Simply put, if you&#8217;re having this problem as well do this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In Thunderbird, start to compose a new message, which will load your signature\/stationary with the now broken image.<\/li>\n<li>Go through the annoying process of telling Thunderbird it&#8217;s okay to load those images.<\/li>\n<li>Then in the File menu click &#8220;Save As&#8221;, select &#8220;File&#8221;, then navigate to where your signature file is stored and click on it, and replace it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s it &#8211; problem solved. &nbsp;A relatively simple fix yet not immediately intuitive. &nbsp;Hope this helps someone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thunderbird. &nbsp;Has been my email app of choice since Eudora bit the dust. &nbsp;It essentially picked up where Eudora left off and was an easy switch. &nbsp;Yet a recent update changed the way it handles images in stationary and has been giving me some aggravation until this morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16],"tags":[52,53],"class_list":["post-798","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-technology","tag-email","tag-thunderbird"],"views":1949,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/798","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/9"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=798"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/798\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=798"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=798"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=798"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
