{"id":284,"date":"2013-02-27T08:19:52","date_gmt":"2013-02-27T12:19:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cyclops.creed3.com\/?p=284"},"modified":"2013-12-29T16:26:59","modified_gmt":"2013-12-29T20:26:59","slug":"eye-phone-redux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tech.creed3.com\/?p=284","title":{"rendered":"eye phone redux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0 4px 4px 0;\" alt=\"iPhone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cyclops.creed3.com\/images\/stories\/iphone-logo.gif\" width=\"140\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nSo here we are a few months in to this thing. &nbsp;The first thing I can say without question is that phone calls on the AT&#038;T network <strong><i><u>suck<\/u><\/i><\/strong>!! &nbsp;No seriously. &nbsp;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We had to get what they call a micro-cell at home in order to have ANY signal strength. &nbsp;This thing connects to the AT&#038;T network through the internet. &nbsp;Now you could say &#8220;well, they can&#8217;t be expected to have great signal strength out in the boonies&#8221;, which might be a good point except we presently live in a heavily populated large U.S. city with cell towers everywhere you look. &nbsp;So this micro-cell gives us 5 bars constantly in the house, however walk outside and 20 ft. away and they quickly fade to black as the call signal transfers to the nearest tower from the micro-cell. &nbsp;Walk back in to the house and the call doesn&#8217;t go back to the micro-cell. &nbsp;So one must hang up the call and wait 15 seconds for the phone to find the micro-cell again. &nbsp;Nice. &nbsp;Add to this that if we lose power or internet we have no signal. &nbsp;Good for emergencies!<\/p>\n<p>AT&#038;T says they don&#8217;t guarantee any signal with their service.
