So about that Mac development server on my local network.  It’s an old Mac, an Intel dual core xeon.  It runs OS X Server 10.6.8 which hasn’t had an update from Apple in at least a year I’m guessing.  Which of course means PHP hasn’t been updated which is not good for a development server. more »

So you find that great song you used to love some time ago on YouTube.  You always wanted that album but never had the cash, and today you’re still running short.  Solution?  The YouTube to MP3 Converter by MediaHuman.  It’s a free app, allows basic tag editing, has iTunes support, and much more.  Copy the YouTude URL and click the Paste URL button and then the download button.  The app quickly downloads the video and converts it to an MP3 file.  I’ve used this one for a few years and MediaHuman is continually improving it.  Keep in mind you’re not going to get the same audio quality as a CD simply because of the limitations of online video, but this will keep your ears happy until that next paycheck will purchase the CD.  Oh, and it runs on Windows too.

Wow – I have no idea what the folks at Mozilla are doing now, and maybe they don’t either.  But every version of FF since 32.* has really…. well…. sucked.  Anyone else having any problems with FF on a Mac?  Literally every new tab I open causes it to peg my CPU at 100% for up to 2 minutes.  It is virtually unusable.  So for now, I’m sticking with v32 until they can stop the stupidity.
